The Speciality PV membrane acts as a selective barrier between the two phases the liquid-phase feed and the vapour-phase permeate. It allows the desired component(s) of the liquid feed to transfer through it by vaporization. Separation of components is based on a difference in transport rate of individual components through the membrane.
It is very useful for Azeotropic distillation, Solvent Dehydration, high boiler component recovery etc.
It requires preheating of feed up to 90°C and vacuum as the driving force.
Application area: CDMS Pervaporation (PV) membrane is an attractive process for dehydration of over 20 kinds of solvents, such as ethanol, IPA, THF, acetonitrile, and many more.
